The University of Illinois Springfield Men’s basketball team has started off the year strong winning three of their last four home games. This is coming at a good time for the prairie stars as they prepare to play their first conference game of the season again Bellarmine on Thursday. The team is being spearheaded by 6-10 sophomore Zach Steinberg who is averaging nearly 18 points per game through pre season. The stars will be looking to improve on their 5-13 GLVC record last year. Coach Walker has recruited 5 players this season including 2 transfer students.
The prairies stars complete a six game home stretch on Saturday playing the University of Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles.
