Political season is in full effect.
On Saturday the 22nd, The University of Illinois at Springfield's Department of History hosted "History Harvest" at the Old State Capitol where residents came and showed off their prized presidential memorabilia from decades ago.
Items such as brochures and buttons where just some of what was offered for show. Patrons that attended the event had the opportunity to have their possessions digitally scanned for online viewing, auctioning and also got to share their stories behind their items.
Springfield resident, John Linefelder says "had having both his parents being active in the political scene gave him interest about it and enjoys seeing everything being put on social media."
