Intramural sports are on the up rise at University of Illinois Springfield. Dodgeball is one of the many sports teams. Dodgeball is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Student Life Building Gym. Players get the opportunity to create two teams and play against each other. The rules are if you get hit with a ball, you are out of the game. If you catch the ball the person who threw it is out. U.I.S. senior Ashley Hollinshead shared her experience with playing dodgeball. She said, "I’ve been coming to dodgeball for all four years that I’ve been going
here and I love it it’s a great community and it’s a great stress reliever
everybody here is super friendly and supportive. I’ve made great friends here
and I really hope the club continues to do as well as it has this year after we
graduate." Dodgeball and intramural sports continue to grow at U.I.S. They plan to
have more dodgeball tournaments and charity events partnering with other
student organizations in future. There will be an annual dodgeball tournament Friday December 2nd where profits will be given to the Make-a-Wish-Foundation.
