Illinois asks for 3 Billion Dollars from the Federal Government
Clint DeRoze
A committee on state mental healthcare held a public forum with Illinois citizens earlier this morning to get feedback on the 115 Medicaid Waiver.
The proposal would give the state access to 3 billion dollars in federal funding and would go to mental health programs across Illinois.
Representatives of multiple mental health and law enforcement agencies attended todays forum to give their input on the waiver.
The process for getting the 115 Medicaid Waiver approved has already started, but lawmakers say that they don't expect the money before the end of the year.
