Student Government Association Elections
Drew Van Weelden
On Sunday, September 25th, the Student Government Association (SGA) at the University of Illinois Springfield were introduced to the newly elected members from the recent campaigns that finished that week. The positions filled include Transfer Student Senator, Freshman Student Senator, and even a Peoria Campus Senator. Along with voting for new members on SGA, University of Illinois Springfield students were asked to vote on the newly revised SGA Constitution which passed 360 to 22 with 80 students selecting "No Vote." While the first night of SGA for the newly elected members had full attendance, it is not uncommon for members to stop showing up. Only time will tell if this new group of students can endure the challenges facing them.
